How to write a looking-for-job post as a fresher

Write a clear looking-for-job post with your target role, skills, location and availability. Includes a fictional example and a privacy checklist.

By the BechNaSeekho Careers Team · Editorial guide, not a member post · Published

A recruiter should be able to understand your target role, useful skills and preferred location without asking you to rewrite your entire post. “Any job available?” communicates urgency but gives the reader little to act on. A clear post makes the next conversation easier. CareerFeed posts are public: anyone can read what you write, including people who are not signed in.

Put the role before the biography

Start with one or two related roles. Then add your qualification, evidence of skills, preferred city or work mode and availability. If you are exploring roles, name the functions that interest you and explain why. Avoid presenting every industry as your first preference.

A simple structure

  1. Target role and location.
  2. Qualification or relevant experience.
  3. Two or three useful skills, supported by an example.
  4. Availability and work preferences.
  5. A clear request: relevant openings, feedback or a referral conversation.

Do not say you are immediately available if you need time to relocate or complete a commitment.

Fictional example: fresher seeking telecalling work

Fictional example
“Hi everyone, I am looking for an entry-level telecalling or customer support role in Noida. I have completed my graduation and can communicate in Hindi and English. During a college event, I handled participant calls and maintained follow-up information in a spreadsheet. I am available for interviews next week. Please share relevant vacancies or suggestions on improving my profile. My experience and preferred role are summarised below.”

Replace every detail with your own. The example is a writing model, not a real candidate story or evidence of a placement.

Replace broad claims with evidence

Instead of “excellent communication”, describe a presentation, customer interaction or coordination task. Instead of listing ten software tools, include the tools you can demonstrate. If you have completed a project, explain what you made and your contribution rather than posting only the certificate name.

Protect your information

CareerFeed posts are public. Do not publish your phone number, personal email address, home address, identity documents, bank details or resume document in a post or comment. Do not post someone else's details without permission.

Share your resume through CareerSync, not in a post

To share your resume with employers, upload it on CareerSync instead of attaching it to a post. An uploaded resume is not shown on CareerFeed. It is accessible to you and to authorised BechNaSeekho administrators, and an employer can see it only for an application to that employer's own job, after an authorised administrator approves sharing it.

What to do after posting

Respond to relevant questions, verify the role and employer, and update your post if your availability changes. A public post can start a conversation; it does not guarantee an interview or a job. Track genuine openings separately so that comments do not replace applications.

Common questions

Should I attach my resume to a post?

No. CareerFeed posts are public. Upload your resume on CareerSync instead; it is not shown on CareerFeed.

Can I mention two roles?

Yes, if the roles are related and your skills fit both.
